Shaolin Qin Na is a martial style that will enhance
both the practitioner’s martial skills and everyday life. The beauty of Shaolin Qin Na is that it is of a seizing nature; whereas
most self defense styles are rooted from a more aggressive and combative nature, studying Qin Na allows the student to be able to
defend himself/herself without resorting to violence.
YMAA Seminars are a healthy environment for college students: They can
find room to grow in both the martial art discipline and spiritually. In the seminar the students will acquire leadership skills by
working with a group of strangers. Socially they will be able to spend time with practitioners from around the world (
Overall the Shaolin Qin Na seminar is not only an opportunity for BCC Kenpo
students to expand their martial arts knowledge, but also and opportunity to polish various life skills.
‘Qin Na, “Seize and
Control,” is known for its effectiveness in controlling opponents through it’s techniques of locking joints, muscles and/or tendons,
thereby setting up the next step of strikes, cavity presses and other potential attacks to opponents. Chinese Shaolin Qin Na is the
root of the Japanese martial arts of Aikido and Jujitsu and its part of most Chinese martial styles. Clearly it is a useful addition
to any martial style. Dr. Yang is famous for his Qin Na techniques derived from his White Crane and Long Fist background. Many have
studied his books and video tapes. However, to grasp the subtle techniques of Qin Na you must learn and feel the technique directly
from an expert. This seminar will also include some “hidden” techniques not included in the books.
